The project has integrative approach and utilizes existing technologies and standards developing only the necessary extensions and enhancements required to achieve the project goals. This approach will considerably facilitate the integration and industrial exploitation of the project's results.

By defining advanced system and service architecture for content delivery and distribution to and from the digital home environment, the project will enable on the fly personalized CAM content insertion and playback that will take into account user's network, user's preferences, content availability and terminal capabilities. CAM4Home content delivery framework will be capable of providing personalized sets of bundled content to a tremendous range of end-users in a real environment. The CAM4Home content delivery framework considers content bundle creation and insertion both from professional/commercial sources as well as from the digital home environment triggered by end users. CAM4Home project will aim to ensure a guaranteed level of service and seamless content interoperability across a converged complex content delivery and distribution networks as well as an optimised use of underlying delivery network bandwidth and Quality of Service (QoS) characteristics. The realization of the project goals implies innovation technologies in the following areas:

In more detail, the CAM4Home objectives will address at least the following technical issues within the focus of the project by carrying out the work specified in the work plan:
